here by the YD organization.
TEASDALE said he talked to
Bridges on the telephone Friday
The Longshoreman leader indi
cated that the current eastern
strike and a union convention in
April would prevent his appear
ance here until late April
The YDs are seeking a featured
speaker to appear with Bridges.
"We are hopeful that a debate
can be arranged," Teasdale said

challengers in a simultaneous ex
hibition match beginning at 7 p m.
in the SU Ballroom.
University challengers will be
charged SI per board and all
others will be charged $3 per
board. Participants should be
present at 6:30 p m. with their
own boards and chessmen. Spec
tators will be admitted without
charge.
RESHEVSHY has played five
such simultaneous matches at the
University and has never been
defeated. He began giving simul
taneous matches of this sort in
fin rope when he was six years
old.

Schellman To Talk
On Soviet Science
John A Srhellman, associate
professor of chemistry, will speak
on "A Month With Soviet Sci
ence,” at the Browsing Room Lec
ture, Wednesday at 8 p m. in the
SU.
Schellman was chosen to parti
cipate in the UN-Russian Scien
tific and Cultural Exchange Pro
gram last year and spent Septem
ber in Moscow, Leningrad, and
Kiev, lecturing and meeting So
viet scientists.
SCHELLMAN has devised a
mathematical theory, to be pub
lished in a forthcoming issue of
the Journal of Chemical Physics,
which may be an important step
toward unraveling the complex
structure of the protein molecule.
At Oregon since 1958, Schell
man holds memberships in Sigma
Xi and the American Chemical
Society.
Francis Reithel, head of the
chemistry department, will lead
the discussion following the lec
ture.
King of Hearts

Hearts to be selected at the Heart
Hop. Friday, February 8, have
been announced.

THE KING of Hearts will he
selected by couples attending the
dance, using a combination ticket
ballot. Couples may vote until
10 n m. at Theta Chi, Delta Tau
Delta, Delta Zeta, and Delta Del
ta Delta. The king will be
crowned at the Tri-Delt house.
