Baha’i Fellowship
Kavous Monadjemi, University
student from Iran, will speak on
"Keligion in a Modern World,"
tonight in an informal fireside
discussion of the Baha’i Fellow
ship. The meeting will begin at 8
p in. at the home of Mr and Mrs.

Study groups began meeting
this week. The Bible study of Un

one of Luther’s works will be at

on the New Ttestamcnt. The only
charge for the groups is for the

Presbyterian Church
The Rev William E. Hallman of
Portland will speak on “The
Changing Role of the Protestant
Church in the Near East" Sunday
at 6:30 p m at 1414 Kincaid. He
has just returned from a year in
Lebanon as a Fraternal Univer
sity Pastor and has traveled for
the World Council of Churches
through Egypt and the Sudan.

ilton will be guests at the dedica
tion ceremonies and will pre
sent the University President Ar
thur S. Flemming the plaque com
memorating their father. The
daughters are Mrs. Ruth Hamil
ton Hermann and Mrs. Merle
Hamilton Carson, both of Salem,
and Mrs. Helen Jane Hamilton
Clarke of Roseburg.
THE UNITS of the hall are
named for ten former members
of the University community. |
These include: William Pingry
Boynton, Timothy P. Cloran, Ma
rion F. McClain, Lilian Ella Tin
gle, George Haskell Collier, Fred
erick Stanley Dunn, Sarah Julia
Burgess, Edwin Clyde Robbins,
Mary Putnam, Boise Spiller, and
Mary Watson.
It is at the suggestion of
Mary Watson’s husband, Walter
Barnes, that the unit is named
Mary Watson Hall, as that is
the name by which she was best
known to her students.
MEMBERS OF the families of
those for whom the units are
named will be present during the
dedication.
Following t h e ceremony,
luncheon will be held in the in
dividual units. During these fam
ily representatives will present
the plaques for each unit to the
unit president.
The dedication ceremony will
be open to the public.
Oct 13 and 14 at the Chapel by
the-Sea in Neiscott. The Hcv. Ul
rich Mauser, Presbyterian chap
lain at Oregon State University,
will be spiritual leader. Sign up
sheets are on the bulletin t>oard
at Westminster House.
Discussion groups are being or
ganized. Students may sign up
now for the groups, which will
each be limited to ten people.
Christian House
Married students will meet for
a dessert and informal get-togeth
er Friday at 8 p m. at Christian
House with Mr. and Mrs. John
Davis as hosts Baby sitters will
be provided at 136 E. 34th Ave
nue after 7:30 p m.
Sunday morning at 9 a m. the
study of “God Our Contempor
ary” will follow a coffee hour.
Sunday at 5 p.m. the Rev. Alan
Tippett of Australia will speak
and lead a discussion on “What
Kind of a God Meets My Needs?”
A snack supper will precede the
discussion.
Registrations for the annual
fall retreat to be held Oct. 13 at
the Hildebrand home at the coast
should be in not later than Wed
nesday.
