Scheduled
A photographic exhibition pre
senting a review of recent build
ings using pre-cast concrete as a
decorative material will be on
display until Sept. 23 at the Mu
seum of Art.
“Pre-Cast Concrete: New
Shapes in Design" includes 25
panels showing detailed and 1
broad views of institutional, pub
lie and commercial work done in
the United States.
One of a series originated by
the Architectural League of New
York, the exhibition is traveling
to art institutions and universi
ties throughout the country un
der the auspices of the American
Federation of Arts.
The museum is open from 12
noon to 4 p.m. daily except Mon
day.
Type II Vaccine
Set at Clinics
The Lane County Sabin Oral
Polio Immunization Clinic will be
conducted Saturday and Sunday
with the administration of Type
II Sabin Vaccine dosage.
Locations, will be at North and
South Eugene high school, Wil
lamette high school, Thomas Jef
ferson Junior high school in Eu
gene, Springfield Senior high
school in Springfield and Oak
ridge Senior high school in Oak
ridge.
Clinic hours will be 11 a.m. to 7
p.m.
No make-up clinics will be
scheduled for the final dosage of
the oral vaccine. Individual Type
II doses may be purchased for 50
cents at the clinic locations.
Graduate School Receives Money
The Graduate School has re
ceived $167.500 from the U. S.
Office of Education for 22 addi
tional National Defense Educa
tion Fellowships for the 1962-63
academic year. Harry Alpert,
Graduate School dean, has an
nounced.
THE NEW awards raise to 96
the number of such fellowships
given to the Graduate School
since the program began four
years ago. No other university in
the nation has received more such
awards under the NDEA pro
gram. The University is tied with
Vanderbilt University, Nashville,
Tenn., in the number of fellow
ships received.
For the preceding academic
year the University received
$1(15,000 for 2(5 fellowships.
THE NATIONAL Defense Edu
cation Fellowships were estab
lished by Congress to raise the
level of graduate work in the na
tion. Several new faculty mem
bers have been added to the
Graduate School to meet the in
crease in graduate work.
