Library Contest Prizes Total $570 A total of $570 in cash and book awards will hr- given win ners of a Library Day Prize (ton test at the University. Students will submit their per sonal libraries in one of 22 cate gories for competition. Libraries will be judged on the selection of titles rather than on total num ber or monetary value. According to judging criteria, the library should indicate a future collec tion, balanced and broadly select ed, which will be worthy of a ♦ ♦ ♦ Many Events To Mark 'Library Day' The 26th annual Library Day will be celebrated Saturday at the University Library. Special displays throughout the library, the announcement of winners in the Student Library contest, and a tea honoring the contestants will comprise the day's program. Displays of the libraries en tered in competition will be in t he Reserve Book Room a n d Newspaper Heading Hoorn. They may lie seen from 12 noon to •i p.m. University time (1 to 5 p.m. DST) Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. University time (2 to 5 p.m. DST i Sunday. in the Circulation Dibby an exhibit entitled "Out of the Kile Cabinet to You” will feature ex amples of the wealth of pictures and pamphlets available for loan. And in a special case in the lob by the "PortugalJae Monumenta Cartographlca,” an AUuh issued by the government of Portugal honoring Henry the Navigator, will be shown. At 3 p.m. University time (4 pm. DST i Saturday, contest prises will be awarded in the Newspaper Reading Room. An nouncement will also be made of the winners of the Peter Paup er Press K .say Contest, and the local award for the Amy Essay Contest. Following the award cer emony, the tea will be held in the Circulation Lobby, At 7 p.m. Uni versity time (k p.m. DST) that evening the Josephine Evans Harpham Silver Award will be made at the All-Campus Sing at McArthur Court. Activities at the library are sponsored by the Association of Patrons and Friends of the Uni versity Library. Typewriters Stolen Two Remington Standard type writers have disappeared from the Oregana office, room 307, SU. The machines were removed sometime between the afternoons of May 2 and 3.
