labeled “Etruscan”, of a b o u t
the fifth century, B.C., and had
been on exhibition at the mu
seum since 1983. A notice post
ed in the Etruscan collection
says that as a result of modem
scientific analyses the museum
received “proof that these fa
mous statues were; not made
in ancient times."
