Greenleaf-Warren
Janet Warren announced her pinning to Don Crcenleaf,
Sigma I’hi Epsilon sophomore, by passing a pin box during
an alter hours gathering April 17. Miss Warren, a member of
Alpha Omicron Pi, is a junior in foreign languages.
Paine-Schmeer
Newly engaged are Stephanie Schmeer, Alpha Omicron
1'i, and Robert Paine, Delta Tau Delta. The couple plan to
marry in June of 1961 after Paine, a junior, graduates from
the fniversity. The engagement was announced at a formal
dinner April IK when Miss Schmeer passed a candle decor
ated with red roses and white carnations. She is a sophomore
in journalism.
Simmons-Knoles
Alice Knoles, Alpha Camilla Delta, has revealed her en
gagement to Robert Simmons, who is president of Adams
Hall. Mi Knoles passed an ice blue candle with red roses
during an after-hours party. Her favors were sailor hats. She
i- a junior in history, and Simmons, also a history major,
!' a -cnior. No wedding date has been -et.

In the midst of this is Adell Mc
Millan, Program Director for the
SU.
MISS Mc.MlUL.AN hails from
Portland and was educated at
Whitman college in Walla Walla,
Washington. There she was pro
gram director of the Student
Union her Junior anti senior years.
She graduated in 1955 and since
that time has been at the Univer
sity of Oregon.
Miss McMillan Is responsible
for advising the SU committees.
She also works with the SU
Board. Besides her many activi
ties at the University she is also
very active in community affairs.

Schwering dinner
set for Tuesday
"Hazel Schwering dinners” will
be held at each women's living
organization Tuesday evening, ac
cording to Frances Souvenier,
AVVS Scholarship Foundation
chairman.
Women's groups are asked to
collect a dime from each member
and turn the total in to Miss Sou
venier after the dinners.
Money collected goes into AWS
scholarship fund for the $300

P. Pratt scholarship of approximately $400,
awarded t<» a graduating University senior
for postgraduate study in the University.

Phi Beta taps new members
Phi Beta, speech and music
honorary, pledged eight women
recently. Those pledged were
Vivian Tendolicn, Patti James,
Cam Kieeb, Barbara Doggett,
Gail Gemmel, Sharon Bruck, Lee
Coffee and Judy Williams.
Phi Beta is planning a spring
entertainment tour to military
bases and hospitals. The date for
the tour has been tentaitvely set
for Memorial Weekend.
In addition to pledges those in
cluded in the tour will be Nancy
Hall, Karmen Dammrose, Carol
Van Blokland, Kay Sanquist,
Sandra Madaris, Judy Littlehales,
and Nan Wood.

for the women, according to Prom
Chairman Krie Larsen.
Larsen said party dresses for
women were originally planned
but "if they want to wear for
