Theta Chi squad
topples Phi Delts
in three contests
Intramural B volleyball got
off to a discouraging start Wed
nesday when the first two games
of the day were forfeited.
Cherney Hall did not show up
to play their match with Hunter,
and French Hall was credited
with a win in the absence of
their opponents. Young Hall.
However the afternoon was not
a complete loss when Alpha Tau
Omega and Sigma Nu started off
the day's games
Although both teams appear
ed to he slightly rusty in their
play, the A TO team was the
least rusty of the two. They
won their match in two very
close games 12-10 and 11-9.
The most exciting and tension
filled match played during the
afternoon was the three games
played between Phi Delta Theta
and Theta Chi.
The Phi Delts put together
good court play and service to
won the first game decidedly.

However Theta Chi came back
in the second fracas when the
Phi Delt defense wavered and
then outmaneuvered the Phi Delt
defense to win 12-6
In the last game of the ser
ies Theta Chi hit the ball
where the Phi Delts weren't.
At times it looked like the
Phi Delts might stop the The
ta attack, but then lost a hard
fought game 12-6.
In a later match, Delta Tau
Delta whipped Sigma Phi Ep
silon in two games 10-1. 13-5.
The Delts started right off
scoring points, displaying in the
process good court play, serving,
and team spirit over their out
-jmanned opponents.
The last match of the after
moon pitted- Sigma Alpha Epsi
lon against Phi Gamma Delta.
The SAE’s won the first game
-easily 15-6 when the Fiji’s had
trouble getting their offensive,
organized.
But they pulled themselves to
gether to win the second game
14- 9 when the SAE defense fell
apart. The third game was a see
saw battle with the SAE’s pull
swig ahead half way through the
-game to maintain a 12-5 score
until the end of the game.

Kapp sets pace in PCC offense
Joe Kapp of California is the
total offense leader in Pacific
Coast Conference football after
eight weekends of play, accord
ing to statistics released by the
office of PCC Acting Commis
sioner. Bernie Hammerbeck.
Kapp has a total of 926 yards
rushing and passing, to rank
ahead of Bob Hivner of Wash
ington, who has 649. and Bob
Nicolet of Stanford who has 604.
Leading rusher for all games
through November 8 is Joe Kapp
with 470 yards. No. 2 on the
ground is Charles Morrell of
Washington State, with 405
yards, while Willie West of Ore
gon has 375.
Top passer is Bob Nicolet of
Stanford, having completed 62
of 117 passes for 598 yards.
Bob Newman of Washington
State has completed 49 passes
for 511 yards, and Dick Nor
man of Stanford 42 passes for
325 yards.
Leading the pass receivers is
Chris Burford of Stanford with
34 catches for 373 yards. Bob
Dehlinger of Idaho is second with
25 receptions, while Irv Nikolai
of Stanford had 24. Leader in in
terceptions is Jim Norton of Ida
ho with 4 for 66 yards.

of 10.7 yards per runback. Luth
er Carr of Washington has re
turned for 100 yards and Wayne
Crow, California, for 78 yards.

turned kickoffs for 192 yards
while Luther Carr is second with
