three way tie in league play. Phi
Delta Theta lead all the way to
down Sigma Chi 28-1. Barrister
Inn walked away with a 21-7
victory over Philadelphia House
and Sweetser Hall trounced ,
Sheldon Hall 26-4.
Phi Delts romp

Phi Delt homers.
Jerry Laing was the winning
pitcher and was ciedited with a
no hitter. Allan Drews allowed
the Phi Delts 18 hits and walked
15 men to be the losing pitcher.
Sigma Chi’s only run came in
the third with the Phi Delts scor
ing ten runs in the first inning,
five runs in the third inning and
thirteen runs in the fourth inning.
Barrister rolls

Grant cage trio
to enter University
Three members of Grant high
school’s state runner-up basket
ball team have decided to attend
Oregon next fall.
All-stater Bill Wallin, second
team choice Jim Sandsness and
starting guard Lloyd Gallaher in
dicated they had accepted schol
arships at Oregon.
The Grant trio joins Klamath
Fall’s Glen Moore and Dave Rob
inson as state basketbailers in
tending to come to Oregon next
fall.
All three players are also
members of Grant’s baseball
team which has cinched a spot
in the state playoffs.
The Phils scored one run in
the first, fourth, fifth and sixth
innings each and three runs came
in the third inning. Barrister
scored two runs in the first, five
runs in the second, six runs in
the third, four runs in the fourth
and one run in the fifth innings.
John McCall of the Phils al
lowed Barrister six hits arid Ball
allowed the Phils nine hits.
Sweetser stomps
Behind the two hit pitching of

downed Sheldon Hall 26-4. Ed
Forks of Sheldon Hall allowed
Sweetser 26 hits and was credit
ed with the loss.
Sweetsre’s big inning was tTie
fourth when they scored 13 runs.
Four runs came in the first and
third each and five runs were
scored in the second inning.
Sheldon's big inning was the first
when they scored two runs with
one run coming in the second and
fifth innings.

The Oregon Ducklings fresh
from a two-game sweep over the
OSC Rooks will try to make it
four in a row this weekend as
they tangle with the Beaver
freshmen in a game here today
and at Corvallis Saturday.
This afternoon’s game is slated
to get undciway at 3. Probable
Duckling pitchers for the two
game series are Denny Peterson,
and Fred Ballard who pitched
the two victories last weekend.
Peterson pitched and batted
Coach Norv Ritchey’s Ducklings
to a 12-5 victory and Ballard
hurled an 11-7 victory. The
Fiosh now hold an 8-4 record for
the season and will be out to
stretch the won-lost record to
10-4.
Coach Ritchey’s Ducklings
have now scored 43 runs in their
last three games and the reason
has been a resurgence in the bat
ting attack which saw' 37 hits in
the games against OSC.
Pacing the Frosh batting at
tack is center fielder Del Jordan
with a lofty .625 mark. Butch
Nysson and Denny Peterson are
both belting the ball at a .500
clip. Leading in RBI’s is outfield
er Chuck Jacques with 10.

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Veteran left hander Don Lane,
who would be a candidate for any Northern Division base
ball hall of fame, pitched a no-hit, no-run game Thursday as
Oregon beat Idaho 11-0.
Untouchable Lane, 22-year-old senior from San Lorenzo,
Calif., faced only 31 batters in his nine-inning stint. He struck
out 11 and gave up three walks.
One Vandal became a base runner on an infield error by
Oregon.
The Ducks took up where they left off clobbering the
vandals 10-2 Wednesday, with a
blistering 19-hit attack. They
scored tive in the first off Idaho
starter Clark Anderson and then
coasted in behind the splendid
pitching of Lane.
The victorious pitcher was also
one of the big hitters, with three
for five.
Oregon catcher Kills Olson
got four for five, including u
triple and home run and three
runs hatted in. Olson comes
from nearby l^wlston, Idaho.
