Topic for Panel
A panel discussion on Amer
ican .foreign policy towards Rus
sia will be held tonight at 7:30
in the Student Union. The talk,
sponsored by the International
Relation* Club, is entitled ‘'Con
tainment Reconsidered I* It

Guest panelists will be William
A. Williarna, assistant professor
of history, J. Oudd Brown, in
structor in political science,
Charles Kobnrger, graduate stu
dent in political science, and
Gunther Koerner, also a political
science graduate student.
According to Birger Brandt,
president of IRC, the panel will
be patterned after the Harkness
plan, inaugurated by Professor
Harkness of Yale University.
The panel will be followed by
a general discussion and by a
“division of the house,” Brandt
said.
Mortar Board
Elects Officers
Sue Ryder was elected as presi
dent of (Tie University chapter
of Mortar Board, senior women's
honorary, at an initiation meet
ing Monday evening at the home
of President and Mrs. O Meredith
Wilson.
Other officers elected were
Mary Jo Fourier, vice-pres.dent;
Jean McPherson, secretary; Ar
lene Clark, treasurer; Leola Lor
enzen. historian, and Laura Mor
ris. editor.
Mrs. Willard L. Thompson, wife
of the University director of pub
lic services, was named new ad
viser to fill the expired term of
Mrs. Wilson. Other advisers to
the group are Mrs. Victor P Mor
ris. wife of the dean of the school
of business administration, and
EC A. L«*sch, professor of Eng
lish.

ned for this summer. Girls inter

these girls and should be turned

ant professor of history, Wednes
day at 8 p.m. for the YWCA
YMCA sponsored Factelty-at
