For 'Fete' Floats
Themes conforming to past
Walt Disney movies and televi
sion productions have been an
nounced for the Canoe Fete
floats by Marls Claussen and
Tom Moreland, co-chairmen of
the float committee.
Preliminary drawings of the
floats are due from each float
group Tuesday, April 17 at the
float representative meeting.
These drawings should be as de
tailed as possible showing the
type of structure and materials
to be used.
Floats will be judged equally
on design, color, effective inter
pretation of the theme, quality
CMA Concert
To Feature
Kabuki Dancers
The Civic Music association
will present the Japanese Azuma
Kabuki Dancers and Musicians
Tuesday at 8 p.m. in McArthur
Court. The performance is for
Civic Music members and Uni
versity of Oregon students who
will be admitted free with stu
dent body cards.
The dancers and musicians will
appear in a fusion of dance,
drama, music and scenic art. The

the Kabuki dance as a program
of continuous musical accompani
ments. both vocal and instru
mental, which play a remarkable
part in creating dramatic and
emotional atmosphere.
Skits Planned for
Preview Dinners
Flying skits are being planned
to present at fraternities and so
rorities during Duck preview din
ners April 21.
Skits will provide entertain
ment as well as trying to interest
the visiting high school seniors
in attending the University, ac
cording to Tom Harding, ex
change dinner co-chairmen.
Women interested in partici
pating in the flying skits should
pick up and return petitions in
the ASUO petition box on the
third floor of the Student Union
by Monday at 5 p.m.

'Fete' Clean-up
Committee Needed
Petitions for the Canoe Fete
; clean-up committee are now
being called for by co-chairmen
Dorothy Gamblin and Rick Cleve
land.
Anyone interested is eligible to
petition according to Cleveland.
Petitions are due Wednesday at
5 p.m. in the ASUO petition box.
The clean-up committee works
with nearly all other committees
of the 1956 Canoe Fete.
