Nominations -
To Be Thursday
For Democrats
Young Democrats will meet
Thursday evening in the Student
Union to nominate officers for
the forthcoming election year.
Election of the officers will take
place the following Thursday.
The club will discuss the organ
isational meeting of the College
Federation of Young Democratic
, clubs. The meeting is scheduled
for Friday and Saturday on the
. Reed College campus in Portland.
Campus Young Democrats will
be sending three or four observ
ers to the meeting, however it is
doubtful if the club will become
a member of the Federation.
Bill Frye, president of the local
club, said at a recent meeting
that, “Such an organization is
• fine for the Portland college clubs
since there is a Multnomah coun
ty club as well and several college
I clubs in the Portland area.”
The object of the Federation is
to coordinate state Young Demo
cratic groups and the college
clubs. Frye stated however. “Our
club is not in need of such an
organization inasmuch as the
campus group js also the county
club which automatically coor
dinates it with the state group."
Room number for Thursday’s
meeting will be posted on the
Student Union bulletin board.
