Supper will be served at 0:30 followed by a short program. The group will then be diwnissed to attend a lecture by M. A. Thomas at < 7:30. A complimentary luncheon will be held Wednesday noon at the Lut heran center. This luncheon Is prepared by the Lut heran church women of Ku gene. Speaker will be Rev. Eld win Hwendson, the new Lutheran Student adviser. Council meetings are every Thursday noon at the student center with the officers, adviser, and group chairmen. The Oregon State Retreat will be held on the weekend of November 11-13 at (.’amp Colton, thirty miles from Portland. Wesley Foundation S u n d a y morning Koinonta Klass will begin at 9:30 at the Wesley Foundation, 1238 Kin caid street, with Rev. Kenneth Peterson speaking on "The Life and Teachings of Jesus." Cocoa will tie served after class and transportation will be provided to the First Methodist church. The Sunday evening program begins with a light supper which will b<- served at 5:30. Guest speaker Is Charles Derthick, head of the psychology depart ment at Willamette university, who will speak on “Psychology and Christian Faith." This is the continuation of the series, "Your Religious J.Q. and Campus Testing." A pot luck dinner will be served Tuesday evening at 5:30 fol lowed by n student sing and dis cussion group. Choir rehearsal w'ill be held Thursday evening at S:30. Fol lowing at 9:30 p.m. there will be chapel services at Wesley. Quakers All students who may be in terested in the Religious Society of Friends are cordially invited to an informal inquiry into the nature of Quakerism. The group will meet Sunday evening at the home of Francis and Alice Dart, 2705 Emerald street. A buffet supper will be served at 5:30 and the discussion will begin about 6:00. Transportation will be avail able at 5:15 from the east en trance of the Student Union. Canterbury Club The Canterbury Club is sched uled to meet a 6:30 Sunday eve ning. Following a brief service of evening prayer, there will be a short business meeting. The central act of worship in the church is the celebration of Holy Communion. Everyone is urged to attend the earlv celebration Wednesday morning at 7 in Ger linger hall. Christian Science The Christian Science organ ization will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the men's lounge of Gerlinger hall. A. Thomas of Travan core, India, speaking on t he topic. He represents the Stu dent's Christloh Movement for which he has been active in Bur ma, India and Ceylon. Mr. Thomas Is a member of the Mar : Thoma Syrian church. At 7:30 p.m. Chfisiian House will Join with University Re ligious Council in a meeting at the Student Union with Mr. Thomas. He will discuas the Stu dent Volunteer convention to be held in f)hio during the Christ mas holidays. At 9 p.m. Sunday a film on Human Rights presented by B’nai Brith will be shown. Doris Allen is in charge. This fireside meeting is the second in a series of meetings concerning the United Nations. Tuesday evening at 5:30 the Older Students potluck dinner will be held. Nonna Teny is chairman of a discussion on the btK)k "Campus Gods on Trial.” The. executive council will meet Wednesday at 9 p.m. Thursday evening at 10 p.m. Christian House will hold its regular weekly House devotions. Westminster Foundation Westminster House is host to the Religious Directors and their wives at, a supper on Saturday, October 8 at 6 p.m., with M. A. Thomas as guest speaker. Topic of discussion is "The 17th Quad rennial Student, Volunteer Move ment Conference Dec. 27-Jan. 1, Athens, Ohio. Sunday morning breakfast classes will meet for a light breakfast at 9 at the Westmin ster Foundation, 1414 Kincaid street. Worship will follow at 9:30. From 9:40 to 10:30 the fol lowing discussion groups meet: "How to Develop Our Own Faith" (using Your God Is Too Small, by J. B. Phillips. Newman Club Mass for First Friday is to b« said this afternoon in the chapel of the Sacred Heait Hospital at 4:15. The Sunday meeting of the Newman Club is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Student Union building. The topic is to be "Church and the Social Pro gram.” Canterbury Club Canterbury Sunday evening meeting will begin at 6:00 with a student conducted evening prayer service.
