AWS to Present
Awards, Tributes
A wide array of honors, trib
utPB and awards will be an
nounced next Tuwtday at the
AWS honors assembly, according
to Jeanne Scales, chairman of the
event.
The honors assembly will be
held at 1 p.m. in the Student
Union ballroom and all students,
faculty members and friends are
invited to attend.
The event i» sponsored by
AWS but all women’s organiza
tions awards will be presented.
Presentations will include those
awards usually presented at the '
AWS recognition dessert and;
those awards which were pre-1
sented at the all-campus sing and
luncheon.
Anyone wishing to present an
award to an individual or a group
at this assembly should contact
Miss Scales at 5-7662.
The lowest score ever posted i
by an individual in the Northern
Division golf tournament was
Dick Yost's 133 for 36 holes in
1949. His two rounds were 11
under par.
Thetas to Present
Miss Davis Award
Kappa. Alpha Theta has an
nounced that the annual Janet
Davis scholarship will he pre
sented at the AWS Honors As
sembly May 17.
Application forms are avail
able at the office of Mrs. GoUla
Wickham, associate director of
! student affairs, and are due in
that office May 16. Award of
the scholarship will be based
I upon need, merit and scholar
ship. The amount of the scholar
ship is not yet determined.
Miss Davis was a member of
Kappa Alpha Theta at the Uhi
; versity of Oregon before her
fatal plane crash in IMS.

At Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Chi's feted their house
mother, Mrs. McKenny, Sunday
evening at a Mother's Day Fire
aide. They presented her with
an Alpha Chi Omega mother's
pin.
Cecily Ley was pinned to Bob
Briber following hia Sigma Nu
house dance Saturday night.
At Alpha Delta Pi
Carol Baldwin announced her
engagement to Walt Lovell. Chi
Psi, at the house Monday night.
The secret was revealed with the
traditional A D Pi custom of in
dividual announcements at the
dinner table. The couple plan to
be married this fall in Eugene.
At Delta Delta Delta
Sunday was the date of the
traditional Pansy Ring Tea when
engaged senior girls from the
entire campus are honored by
the Tri Dell chapter.
Saturday evening was doubly
eventful for the members of Del
ta Delta Delta and Sigma Xu.
Besides the pinning of Joan
McKinzie to Bob Crall which
took place at the Sigma Xu
house dance, the Sigma Xu’s also
awarded a white star of flowers
to the Tin Delts for the second
consecutive year for having the
most girls in attendance at their
dance.
At Delta Gamma
Joan Kerr announced her pirn
ning to her Delta Gamma sisters
last Thursday at dinner. She is
pinned to graduate student Bob
Smith. Sigma Chi.
At Delta Zeta
