has made available three or four
fellowships of SI000 (minimum;
for women interested in study
ing in Latin America.
General eligibility require
ments for these awards are as
follows: 1. Must be a citizen of
Oregon, 2. Must hold a bachelor's
degree from an American col
lege or university, or meet this
requirement by the summer of
1955. 3. Have a good academic
record and capacity for inde
pendent study. 4. Have, ability to
read, write and speak Spanish
or Portuguese. 5. Have good
moral character personality and
adaptability, and 6. Must present
a certificate of good health.

Traffic Court to Meet;
Three Sessions Left
The Student Traffic court will
meet tonight at 7:30 on the third
floor of the Student Union.

Wegelin Receives Fulbright Award
Christof A. Wegelin, assistant
professor of English, has been
awarded a Kulbright fellowship
to teach at the University of
Gottingen in Germany,
He will instruct German stu
dents in American literature.
The fellowship will enable YVegel
in to teach at the University for
one year.
YVegelin received a master of
arts degree at the University of
North Carolina, and his doctor's
degree from Johns Hopkins uni
versity in 1947. He has been at
the University of Oregon since
1952.
