ITALY, SPAIN, OR IRAN Fifteen Fellowships Offered To Graduates by Institution A total of 15 fellowships for graduate students who wish to study in Italy, Iran, or Spain this summer are now available through the Institute of Interna tional Education. Six fellowships are offered by the Italian government. Men and women candidates may apply in any field. Free tuition will pe given at an Italian school or pni versity for an entire academic year. Each grant also includes travel expenses inside Italy, and payment for private lessons for music students. Trans-Atlantic travel and incidental expenses are not included. The University of Padua in Italy offers two tuition and main tenance scholarships to men and women under 35. Preference is given to men. The College of Ghislieri in Pa via offers one tuition and main tenance fellowship to a male graduate student. Must Have Master's Candidates for the Italian gov ernment awards must have a master's degree, and present in detailed outline form a project for advanced study or research. Candidates who are accepted must learn some Italian before taking up their fellowships. Candidates for the College of Ghislieri and University of Padua awards must have a bachelor’s degree at the time the fellowship is taken' up and a good knowl edge of Italian. Summerlnstifute Offered in East An eight-week summer insti tute on historical and archival management will be offered again this year by Ftadcliffe col lege and the history department at Harvard university. The course, which is open to both men and women college graduates, is designed to meet the growing demand for histori cally trained archivists and ad ministrators. The institute, which begins June 20, will offer training in the handling, management and procuring of manuscripts and other source materials and will acquaint students with the area of archival and museum man agement. The awards, given by a private donor, are administered by the Institute. Fellowships provide tuition, travel and incidentals. Alpha Phi Leads Pledge Grades Alpha Phi ranked first in wom en's winter term pledge class grades with a 2 89 GPA. Sigma Phi Epsilon's pledge class held on to its fall term men’s first po sition with a 2.461 average. Second and third places for women were taken by Kappa Kappa Gamma with 2.78 and Zeta Tan Alpha with 2.77.
