Award From Fraternity
The local Sigma Chi chapter
won the Whitheii Memorial
Award as outstanding Northwest
Sigma Chi chapter at their an

j ence. held last weekend at Port

The award was given this chap
ter for the second consecutive
year. It has never before been
awarded to the same chapter
twice in a row.
Several conferences were held,
one of which was led by Bud
Hinkson of Oregon. Mary Leash,
this year's Sweetheart of Sigma
Chi. was honored at the Sweet
heart Ball In the Multnomah ho
tel ballroom Saturday night.

L. S. Cresaman, head of the
Anthropology department, has

panel on anthropological and re
: lated sciences of the National
Science Foundation.

This is the second year Cress
man has been a member of the
panel, which acts as an advisory
j group to the National Science
Foundation on problems in Its
field. The group also evaluates
and makes recommendations on
: applications for research grants
, in the field.
