Variety of Movies for Weekend
“The Racers“ Showing
“The Racers," a first-run film
in which sportscar driver Kirk
Douglas speeds across Europe,
pausing only for trysts with Bel
la Darvi, opens Saturday at the
MacDonald theater.
Douglas proceeds through the
Riviera, Italy, France, Belgium
and Germany in the midst of
"much elegant metal,” which
fanciers of horsepower should
find “a prettier sight than old
Europe," according to Time
magazine.
Billed with the racing film is
"Port of Hell,” on adventure
which stars Dane Clark and Car
ole Matthews.
Western Film at Heiljg
The life of notorious frontier
gambler Brett Dade forms the
plot of “Dawn at Socorro," a
western drama at the Heilig.
Rory Calhoun and Piper Laurie j
star.
"Master of K a n s a s,” star- :
ring George Montgomery and
Nancy Gates opens Wednesday
at the Heilig. Co-feature is'
"Bamboo Prison," with Robert
Francis and Dianna Foster.
English Film to Play
Opening Sunday at the May
flower will be J. Arthur Rank's !
"Always a Bride.” with Peggy
Cummins and Terence Morgan.
Miss Cummins stars as a poly
gamous miss whose face is her
fortune. Co-featured will be "Run
for Your Money,” another Rank
tale in the comedy vein.
“Rogue Cop“ Featured
The Eugene Drive-in is fea
turing "Rogue Cop,” the story
of a cop gone bad, all weekend.
Robert Taylor and Janet Leigh
are starred in the film.
On the same bill is “Return to
Treasure Island," starring Tab
Hunter and Dawn Atidams.
