day that in the event of an enemy
attack on the Pacific Northwest,
tfie college will be turned into an
administrative center for the i
staff of the Oregon Civilian De
fense Emergency Welfare serv
ice.
Dr. Harry L. Dillin, president,
said the college would be the fo
cal point for directing many wel
fare centers that would be set
up in Northwest Oregon. Mc
Minnville, 38 miles southwest of
Portland, is considered by de-'
fense officials to be outside the!
probable damage area if Port
land is attacked, Dillin explained.
Jan. 14, from 9 to 12 p.m. Bob
Morrell, freshman in pre-med,
is in charge of this week's free
mixer.
