Twenty-one freshmen have
been nominated for the office
of class representative. Their
classmates will elect two of
them front the following:

Dale Bajema
A graduate of Benson high
school, Portland, Dale Bajema
was student body president and
vice-president there. He played
four years of football and worked
on the high school paper and
yearbook.
Lewis Blue
Lewis Blue attended Eugene
high school where he was vice
president of his junior class, a
member of the yell squad and
the Axemen's council cabinet.
Jim Carter
Jim Carter attended high
school at Grass Valley, Calif. He
held the offices of freshman class
secretary, junior class vice-presi
dent and student body vice
president and president. He is
presently serving as vice-presi
dent of Sherry Ross hall.
John Charleton
A student from Lincoln high,
Portland, John Charleton was
sophomore class representative
and, during his senior year, chair
man of the dance committee at
Lincoln.
Jim Hilands
Jim Hilands attended Wash
ington high school in Portland.
At Washington, he was president
of the cabinet and a member of
the executive council. He is pres
ently president of Hunter hall
and vice-president of the fresh
man Inter-dormitory council.
Jerry Hirsch
Jerry Hirsch graduated from
Washington high school, Port
land, where he was sports editor
of the Washingtonian and a
member of Quill and Scroll, jour
nalism honorary. At the Univer
sity, Hirsch is a member of the
SU dance committee and Seder
strom hall noise committee.
Donald Peck
Donald Peck graduated from
Grant high school in Portland.
Peck was active in functions of
the speech department and a
member of the Grant speech
team. He also served on the Hi-Y
stag dance committee.
Charles Cowen
Charles •Cowen is from Wash
ington high school in Portland.
In high school he was president
of the Key club, belonged to the
National Honor society and was
a member of the Knights. Cowen
is presently on the SU dance
and publicity committees and
the Homecoming programs com
mittee.
Wayne Medford
Wayne Medford attended high
school at Rose burg where he was
business manager of the student
body and sports editor of the
high school annual. At present
Medford is affiliated with Alpha
Phi Omega.
Rob Roy
A graduate of Pendleton high
school, Rob Roy was student
body president, a delegate to
the national student council con
vention, state Hi-Y convention
and Boys State. At the Univer
sity, Roy is Sederstrom hall so
cial chairman, music chairman
of the freshman class and a mem
ber of the University Singers.
Nancy Hogerton
Miss Hogerton has served on
several dormitory committees
and has been elected secretary
treasurer of Gamma Delta since
her arrival on campus. She held
various club offices and was a
member of the Honor society and
Horizon, during high school.
Betty Herrman
Miss Herrman is a Speech ma
jor from Eugene. In high school
she held various offices as Stu
dent Council representative, IRL
state secretary, Girls State rep
resentative, and was a member
of the Honor society. On campus
she is a member of the Debate
squad and is on the Homecoming
Sign committee.
Doris Allen
Miss Allen, who graduated
from Canby high school, is on
the Executive Council at
Christian house. During high
school she held the offices of
Girls League president and an
nual editor.
Myrtle Johnson
Miss Johnson, who graduated
from Cottage Grove and is ma
joring in Pre-Nursing, is active
in Wesley and YWCA. In high
school she was a member of
Honor society and valedictorian
of her class.
Connie Kennedy
Miss Kennedy of The Dalles
is majoring in art at the Uni
versity and is a member of the
YWCA Freshman commission.

working on the Oregana. During

Joan Kraus
Miss Kraus, who is majoring in
journalism, is working on both
j the Emerald and Oregana, and

Newman club. At Eugene high
j school she was on the Girls
league cabinet and edited a
column in the Register-Guard.
Nancy Marston
Miss Marston, since her ar
rival from Arlington, has be
come a member of her YWCA

Joan Rainville
Miss Rainville is also majoring
in journalism and is working on
the Oregana and Homecoming

tice and student body secretary.
Diane Raoul-Duval
Miss Raoul-Duval is majoring
in political science and is from
Burlingame, Calif. On campus
she is a member of the Home
coming and the SU dance com
mittees and is working on the
Oregana.
Nancy Shaw
Miss Shaw came from Coos
Bay and is a member of the
YWCA Freshman commission,
and the Homecoming noise pa
rade committee. During high
school she served as vice-presi
dent of the Girls league and was
on the Rally squad.
Susan Walcott
Miss Walcott served as Girls
league president during high
school. Since she arrived at the
University she has become chair
man of the Homecoming sign
committee for Hendricks hall
and is a member of a Freshman
YWCA commission.
