Oregon's Webfoots. who have
all but clinched second place in
the Northern Division Conference,
iiivade Seattle this weekend to
encounter Washington’s front
running Huskies. The biggest ob
f.tacle confronting the Docks, who
hope to hand the Huskies their
first defeat in conference play,
will be putting the stopper to Bob

ing 28.1 points per contest.
Stop ‘Hooks*
Tuesday afternoon emphasis
was placed on a defense to bottle
up Houbregs. and it wouldn’t be
too surprising if Coach Bill
Borcher comes up with a little
different defense than "Hooks"
and his teammates have faced all
seasbn. Chet Noe, who has been
outstanding defensively this sea
son will probably get the indi
vidual assignment of guarding
Houbregs.
Offensively the Webfotots are
trailing the SeattUtes by a sin

race. Where Oregon falls de
cidedly behind is defensively,
having allowed 67.7 points per
contest, while Washington has
yielded only 56.1, the best de
fensive record In the conference.
The Webfoots will certainly have
to be at their best if they ex
pect to return home sporting a
triumph.
Coach Bill Borctier isn’t ex
pected to make any changes in
his regular starting lineup, which
would consist of Halberg and
Keith Farnam at forwards, Noe,
center, and Wegner and Barney
Holland, guards. Holland has been
using a face guard for the past
two weeks, and it is probable he
will be using the protection again
this weekend.
Ducks Close to Second
Now sporting a five game con
ference win streak, the Ducks
have a solid hold on second spot
at the three-fourths mark, three
games above third place Idaho and
four ahead of Oregon State. One
win in Seattle would give the Ore
gon five at least a tie for second
in the final standings.
