at the Multnomah Athletic club
pool, ended Sunday. Coach John
Borchardt’s crew scored 113
points, Multnomah Athletic club,
82, and the Aero club, 65.
Gordon Edwards and Yosh Ter
ada were the top point getters for
Oregon, each gaining a pair of
firsts in the two day stand. Sat
urday, Edwards won the 1,500
meter freestyle in 20:28.8 and
placed second in the 220-yard free
style, losing to Bob Gregson of the
Aero club. Sunday, Edwards cap
tured the 440-yard freestyle.
Terada scored his two victories
in the 150-yard backstroke and
the 100-yard breast stroke. He es
tablished a new state record in
the latter event by finishing in
1:05.2. It was the only new record
made in the men's division of the
meet.
Saturday, Oregon won the 400
yard freestyle in 3:47.6.
Fijis Win in Handball
In intramural handball Monday
afternoon, Phi Gamma Delta won
over Beta Theta Pi 2-1.

Alpha Tail Omega, behind’the sharpshooting of Kay Packwood,
downed Phi Kappa Alpha, 2S-21, in a rough and tumble game Mon
day afternoon in "A" intramural basketball pluy.
The ATO'a jumped to an early lead, with several quick baskets and
led the Phi Kaps M-10 at the half way point. The game was marked

Junior Guard Kenny Wegner
scored 29 points against the Ore
gon State college Beavers last
weekend and closed the distance
on Chet Noe by a single point in
team scoring statistics, released
Monday by the Athletic News
bureau.
Wegner, with 71 field goals and
101 free throws for a total of 243
points, trails Big Chester by 42
points. Noe has tossed in 95 field
goals and the same number of
charity points for his mark of
285 points.
Ed Halberg, who has scored 229,
has the highest field goal rate of
any Webfoqt, 91 buckets in 223
tries for a .408 percentage. Weg
ner, on 151 trips to»the free throw
line, has hit 101 times for a .609
per cent. Bxib Hawes has a better
average, but on fewer tries 36
hits on 48 trips.
Number one rebounder is Noe,
with 274 in 20 games—an average
of 13.7 per contest. Noe’s 24 points
against the Beavers Friday night
is the highest single output re
corded this year.
