One-point Bucket Ruins Ducks;
Beavers Win Season Inaugural
PORTLAND When is a basket
a basket? That's the question that
junior transfer ltd Halborg of the
University of Oregon anil his head
coach, Bdl Borcher will mull over
for a long time to come.
In the opening game of the 1952
53 basketball season at the lee
Arena. Halborg, a forward, hit
with a final second shot which
should have given Oregon a Gl-03
win over the Oregon State college
Beavers in a non-conference tilt.
But officials, who along with the
timekeeper, were unable to tell
whether the bucket came before or
after the final gun, ruled it one
point and as a result the game
went into overtime Monday.

ATO’S Spikers Hot
In the first contest the ATO's

close 15-13 win.
In the final the ATO's jumped
