Dr. William Jones Fills New Administrative Post

One of Jones' many duties in this
newly-established administrative
position is to act as a channel be

ministration can’t bo listed ‘one,
two, three.’" Jones asserted. "I
solve as an administrative assist
ant to the president, handle some
public relations and represent the
president when he lias conflicting
obligations.”
Jones gave up his seven-year
post as president of Whittier col
lege in Southern California to lake
over his present job fall term.
But he is not new to the Oregon
campus. He was head of the po
litical science department here
from 1941 to 1914.
During those years he nlso su
pervised policies for some GOO
employees of the Oregon Mate
Public Welfare commission.
Jones was graduated from Whit
tier college, received his M.A. in
business administration at the

addressed service clubs and com
munity groups around the state
on the general service of the Uni
versity to the State of Oregon.
Jones lives here with his wife
and a son who is a sophomore at
University high school. Another
son is a senior at Whittier college.

3. This is the only college girls’ summer group to Hawaii that
definitely has a clearly detailed and comprehensive program of
social, sightseeing, and beach activities. Many other special

4. The Howard Tour is the largest college girls tour to Hawaii.
Last year there were 143 members in the group, with each house
mother accountable for twenty girls.
