'House of Magic'
General Electric’s "House of
Magic” show, portraying .some of |

Thursday In the Student Union

University students will have a

The show is presented on stage
by General Electric performers.
The "House of Magic" is offered
by the Genera] Electric company

The show, sponsored by the do- i
partmont of physics and the Eu
gene Water and Electric board,
also includes a Geiger counter
demonstration, lighting an electric
lamp with a match, and controlling
a miniature electric train with a
human voice.

Outlines Plans, Hopes for 1951 Event
By Donna llarf
A young lady with one of the I
biggest Jobs on campus these days !

duties.
Miss Cilimore, a 20-year old
Junior in Knglish, graduated in
IfMK from Fayetteville high school
in North Carolina. Being the
daughter of an Army officer poses
quite a problem as to where her
hometown is located. At the pres
ent time her father is in Korea
and her mother is living in Wash
ington, D.C.
A major in Knglish and minoring
in French, Miss Gillmore will be
qualified to teach school upon
graduation. She hopes to eventual
ly make use of her language
studies, however, in the export
business. "My great desire." said
the bunette Kappa Alpha Theta,
“is to travel abroad.”
Active for Three Years
Miss Gillmore has been active
in the past three years as Kwama
president, French Club president,
public affairs chairman of the
YWCA and Amphibians.
"Homecoming Weekend," stated ;
the chairman, "promises. I think,
to bo giand fun for all who partici
pate. The committee chairmen are
doing a wonderful job. the students
are cooperating cheerfully and all
phases are progressing admirably.”
Miss Gillmore spoke enthusi- ;
