Castell asserted, so only one step
is left for Arnold to trap Huxley.
Using Huxley’s agreement with
Arnold, and also using his owr
powers of human beings, Arnold I
fashioned this statement as Hux
ley’s contention, Castell pointed
out. which follows logically: "To
obtain knowledge of what reason
requires of persons and a desire to
make those requirements prevail,
education concerned with things is
as effectual as education concerned
with persons.” No reply ever came
from Huxley. Castell said.
Arnolod’s introductory essay in
“Essays in Criticism” has a uni
versal greatness. Castell asserted.
It has become somewhat of a scrip
ture for human study. Concerned
with the function of criticism, it
says we must know the order to
which things belong before we can
tell what they actually are.

Thursday's IM volleyball action
saw four wins, a forfeit anil a tie
as Intra-mural play stretched into
its third week of play. Theta Chi
took the measure of Alpha Tau
Omega 2-1 while Phi Gamma Del
ta beat Sigma Phi Epsilon 2-0.
Campbell Club squeaked by Alpha
Hall 2-1, Delta Upsilon trounced
Kappa Sigma 2-1. and Sherry Ross
forfeited to Stan Ray Hall. The
match between Philadelphia House
and the Legal Eagles ended in a
tie. Director of Intramurals, Ev
erett Perry said the contest would
be replayed at the end of the sea
son if either squad was in conten
tion for the league crown.
ATO-Theta Chi
Perhaps the most well-played
game took place between ATO and
Theta Chi. Both teams displayed
excellent teamwork in setting up
their points, and the number of
brilliant "saves" was very high.
For the victors, who won the first
and third contests, Dick Kesson
stole the show. Not a particularly
tall man, he stood out on defense
and was responsible for setting up
many of those point-winning
smashes. The scores indicate just
how close the matches did get—
16-14, 10-15 and 1A-1.
Delta Upsilon, sparked by Pete
Streefkerk, upset Kappa Sigma in
a three game tussle. Streefkerk,
who was on last year's Emerald
All-Star volleyball team showed
his worth Thursday by stellar all
around play.
No intramural games are sched
uled today.
Idaho Boasts

Bowling Class
Has Openings
Bowling classes, started by the
Recreation Committee October 30,
still have sufficient facilities for
more students who are interested
and want to sign up for the classes,
Louie Bellisimo and Major Irvin
Ungerleider will instruct the class
es. The 40-cent an hour charge in
cludes all of ' the bowling and
lessons that one receives during
that time. Classes will be held
every Tuesday from 3,:30 p.m. un
til 5:30 p.m., until the end of the
term.
