Forensic Group Releases Plans Plans for the forens'c group which w**re laid at an organiza tional meeting Tuesday evening in Villard hall have been announced by the speech department. Symposium groups will be speak ing throughout the year at schools, clubs and civic organizations throughout the area on the sub jects, "Should the federal govern ment adopt a permanent program of wage and price control?” and "How can we as a nation improve our ethical and moral conduct?" Following the initial speeches on these subjects, the participat ing students will answer questions from their audiences. The first inter-collegiate foren sics meet is scheduled for Nov. 3 at Pacific university in Forest Grove. At the meet, Oregon will compete with the other schools from the Willamette valley. According to the speech depart ment, they have hopes of obtaining Oxford university and the Univer sity of Hawaii speech groups for special meets honoring the Uni versity's 75th anniversary. Life of Henry VIII SU Sunday Movie “The Private Life of Henry VIII,” the first Student Union movie of the year, will be shown at 2:30 and 4:15 p.m. Sunday in the SU ballroom. Admission price is 30 cents. Stars of the movie are Charles Laughton, Gertrude Lawrence, Robert Donat, Merle Oberon, John Loder, and Wendy Barrie. The picture depicts the lavish Tudor court with authentic set tings, Sandra Price, SU movie committee chairman, said. She ex plained that the story begins with the execution of Ann Boleyn, Hen ry’s second wife, and ends as he becomes the hen-pecked husband of Katharine Parr, his sixth wife. A veteran of World War II, who was a resident of the state of Ore gon for at least one year immedi ately preceeding induction, is elig ible to apply for the bonus, accord ing to Hawk. Veterans may re ceive up to $600 under the law, which was passed during the last session of the state legislature. Actual payment of the compen sation may be delayed until the federal government's credit re straint regulations on the sale of bonus bond issues are relaxed. However, applications must be postmarked not later than Dec. 1, 1952, even though payment of the compensation may be delayed that date.
