Stanford Trip (Continued from page one) The one-dormitory plan for fresh man men. Students composing the Univer sity dormitory committee are Anita Holxr;a, Stan Turnbull, Dick Dahlberg, Nancy Allison, Jackie Pritzen, Barbara Bates, Bill Cloth 's r, Bob Schooling, Leslie Tooze, and Mountain. Howard Lemons, administrative assistant to Presi dent Newburn, will also take the trip to Stanford. At the present time a committee headed by P. L. Kleinsorge, pro fessor of economics, is making a study of the fraternity situation under the present national emer gency. An alumni group will visit the University campus later this spring to observe the deferred living-in plan at Oregon Snake Talk Will Feature Live Model A. S. I Frosh Women To Attend YWCA SophcmoreMeet All freshman women are invited to a YWCA sophomore cabinet meeting in order to get acquainted with their officer, at 4 p.m. today j in Gerlinger Hall, according to Ancy Vincent, president. The officers will explain the j spring program of activities, and the meeting will divide into five groups, consisting of those inter ested in the following activities: YWCA freshman picnic, kiddie car nival. posters for drives coming up spring and fall terms, the duckling counselor program, and Red Cross. General chairmen of four com- j mittees, posters, kiddie carnival, 1 picnic, and decorations for the' Junior-Senior Breakfast, were ap pointed by Miss Vincent at a meet ing of the cabinet at noon Tues day. They are. respectively, Bar bara Swanson, Kathy Tribe, Jean Gates and Jean Webb, and Jean Mauro.* Chairmen for the remaining com mittees will be chosen from fresh men members, perhaps Thursday. “The entire success of the term's program depends upon interest : shown by freshman women, and their help. By attending the meet- j ing we hope to get things under way as soon as possible," said Miss Vincent. GeologyMajors To Discuss Ore A debate on the origins of ore deposits will be held by six geol ogy majors as part of a seminar debute and lecture at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in 301 Condon. A second feature of the pro gram is a talk on diamonds by Mrs. Gladys Hannaford, who has an extensive knowledge of the dia mond industry. She will exhibit some real stones. All geology and geography ma jors, Condon club members, and friends may attend. An informal social meeting of Condon club will follow the lecture. Refreshments will be served. Insurance Meeting Set The University of Oregon Insur ance Society will hold its monthly business meeting at 3 p.m. Thurs day in room 7 Commerce. America," annual broadcast featuring hundreds of high school students, will be stat ed Apr. 26 In McArthur Court, climaxing a weekly series of 45 rninule music broadcasts which originate in Eugene. Feature attraction of the broad cast will be the Foster giade school band from Foster in Linn County. The program will include such melodies as "Frog Went a Court in'," "When Irish Eyes Are Smil in',” "Yankee Doodle," und "De Camptown Races." The annual bfondcAHt, as well as the weekly shows, are under the direction of Miss Maude Garnett, associate professor of public school music. State-owned radio station KOAC, I Corvallis, which carries the weekly shows, will also carry the "Let's | Sing, America" program. S. U. to Feature 'Ava' “One Touch of Venus," the Hol lywood movie starring Ava Gard ner, Robert Walker, and Dick Haymes, will be shown at 2:30 and I 4:15 p.m. Sunday in the Student j Union Ballroom.
