The day's agenda for the group included visits to Senate and House of Representatives sessions, lunch eon in the capitol building cafeter ia, and sitting in on special com mittee meetings. The students, observing from a gallery overlooking the Senate, heard the reading of the Governor's proclamation stating observance of (Jeorge Washington’s birthday. The entire assembly stood and observed a minute of silence. A bill changing the minimum value of stolen goods for grand larceny from $35 to $75 was dis cussed by the senators, and finally passed on the grounds that the price of living has increased. House bill 266. "relating to animal and poultry brands or marks,” was recommended for a change at a special committee meeting in order to reduce the number of brands on one animal and to increase the possible com bination of brands. Ken Hodge and Tom Barry drove cars to Salem, asaompanied by Jane Simpson, Kathleen Fraser, Marilyn Patterson, John Peters, Jean Lewis, and Victoria Perez, foreign student from Guatemala. From 1920 on there was notable growth of the graduate school. In 1920 there were five master’s de grees granted and in 1926 there were 35.
