REMEMBER THE RALLY Alley Oop Theme to FollowTraditon At Annual WAA Fun House Friday “Slowboat to Slohbovia,” "Coney Inland,” an.I “Alley of Oopdec- j Doo” are the three unusual themes! on which the WAA have based; their annual carnival for the past; three years. This year’s inspiration for the general theme of “Alley of Oopdec-Doo” was obtained from j the comic of Alley Oop and the hit song of “Whoopdce Doo.” Con-1 trary to previous years, this year's event was designated as a Kun house because it was felt that repi tition of past years’ themes could be more easily avoided. In 1948 the theme of “Slowboat! to Slobbovia” with the aid of the ' presence of Lena the Hyena and I' rankenstien helped to procure the1 ¥fiiO profit whic htbe carnival' $*>70 profit which the carnival which advertised to "Take a Slow , Turtle Ride" received much of the i evening's business while the booth : of dunking girls was very popular: also, in 1950 the “Coney Island”j them was publicized before-hand I by serenaders who went to living: organizations with ukeWes and amply advertised it.
