Club to Hear
U.N. Debaters
A record transcription of high
lights from United Nations meet
ings will be a feature of the Inter
national Relations Club meeting
at 7:30 p.m. today in the Men’s
Lounge, Gerlinger.
Following the recording, the
problem of “Arming the Atlantic
Communities’’ will be discussed.
Cracc Sargent, junior in political
science, will lead the discussion.
This is one of a series of topics
planned in preparation for the
IRC Regional Conference to be
held Nov. 17-18 at the College of
Pugent Sound, Tacoma.
“Problems of National Commun
ism” will be considered at the
next meeting Nov. 9.
All interested students are invit
ed to participate in the meeting,
President Claire Cordier said. Re
freshments will be served.
Garnett Directs
Radio Program
The public school music class
will present its weekly radio pro
gram, “Let's Sing, America,” at
1:15 p.m. today on KOAC, under
the direction of Miss Maude Gar
nett, professor of public school
music. ,
Since October has been desig
nated as Latin American month,
and Cielito Lindo as song of the
month, this, La Cucaracha, select
ed Halloween songs, and others will
be sung.
The students are juniors in pub
lic school music and do this radio
work without credit.
Halloween Fantasy
Broadcast Today
A Halloween fantasy, “The
Ghost of Benjamin Sweet," will
be produced by the Radio Work
shop at 4:30 p.m. today over
KOAC.
“A filter microphone, used to
produce a hollow, eerie effect, will
signify the human characters,
while the ghosts speak over a regu
lar microphone,” Terry Roseen, di
rector, explained.
Star ghosts are Jack Heald and
Ed Ragozinno, supported by Don
ald Hefty, Janet Harris. Marilyn
Patterson, Vein Stolen, Pat With
ers, Lorry Antijunti, and Gordon
Green.

dell are directors of sound and
music.
French Club9Plans
Practice at Noon
Les Thelemites, French club,
will sponsor a "French Table” for
all students interested in practic
ing French at noon today in the
Anchorage.
First year students are welcome,
as is any faculty member who en
joys speaking French, Francis
Gillmore, club president, said.
Les Thelemites will also spon
sor a French “causerie," or chat,
at the College Side at 4 p.m. Tues
days.
