project which was particularly favored
Dean Weigle, to whom research is second na
ture.
And students outside the J-school can
thank the dean for his work on the academic
i requirement committees; for it was he who
suggested the removal of the 45-hour re
quirement after a Junior Certificate to gradu
ate.
Dean AVcigle decided to leave Oregon and
return to California during last winter s snow
storms. Undoubtedly, had Oregon had one of
its milder winters, the Dean would not have
been so anxious to return to sunny California.
We wish him luck in warmer climes, where
he will he associate director of the journalism
institute. There, under the California palms,
he will have more time to delve into research.
