Tours Northwest
The University of Oregon con
cert band, under the direction of
John H. Stehn, professor of music,
is now on a tour of Oregon and
Washington.
Thursday they will play at Her
miston and Umatilla High Schools.
Today the band will play at the
Yakima, Washington, High School.
Soloists for the tour are Glenn
Garrett, french horn; Philip Green,
baritone; Carl Gutmann, saxo
phone; Millard Kinney, piano;
Floyd Leavitt, percussion; and
Shirley Gay Williams, clarinet.

the Pacific Northwest, visited
Hendricks Hall last month to ex
plain opportunities in the armed
services.
Candidates for the WAC officer
candidate schools must be from 19
20 years of age, have two years of
college education, be single with
no dependents, a U. S. citizen, and
in excellent physical condition.
WAF requirements differ only
in the age qualification. Candidates
must be from 2014 to 2614 years
old.
The WAC officers candidate
school is located at Camp Lee, Va.,
the WAF school at Lakeland, Fla.
Both schools offer a ten-month
training period. WAC candidates
train an additional four months at
San Antonio, Tex.
Interested applicants may apply
to Sgt. Gibson’s office, Room 10,
Post Office Building, Eugene.
Mayflower Theater

“Day of Wrath,” a Danish film
sponsored by the Foreign Movie
Club, will be shown twice this eve
ning at the Mayflower Theater.
Centered around the belief in
Witchcraft and the persecution of
witches, the story is laid against
a background of the stern religi
ous life in Seventeenth Century
Denmark.
Directed by Carl Dreyer, the pic
ture stars Thirkild Roose. Lisbeth
Movin, Sigrid Neiidam, and Tre
ben Lerdorff.
Holders of season tickets or stu
dent pledge cards to the Foreign
Movie Club may be admitted to the
theater for 50 cents upon presenta
tion of their cards. This film is an
additional feature offered by the
Club, which has already sponsored
a series of six foreign movies.
