New Station Plans Opening An open-house Saturday and Sunday will inaugurate the official opening of an ultra-modern Shell service station located near the campus on 13th and Hilyard. The station, completed two weeks ago at a cost of $50,000, is managed by Bob Higgins, former University student. It is owned by the Shell Oil Company. Higgins, who has been with the company three years, said garden ias, coffee and doughnuts, balloons, and door-prizes will be given away this weekend. The new station is one of only two of its type in the Northwest. Featuring the latest in modern equipment and design, the plant will have a 10,000-gallon storage capacity for gasoline. An oil heater hung from the ceiling will furnish heat through a system of pipes to parts of the building. Flour escent light will provide the lum ination. Four low-bov gas pumps have been installed.
