Onthank, University director of graduate placement, left Sunday to attend the annual meeting of the Western Personnel Institute in Pasadena, Cal. on Nov. 4 and 5. Universities and industrial con cerns located in the Rocky Moun tain and Pacific Coast states will be represented at the meeting. Purpose of the annual meeting is to discuss personnel work and graduate placement in college and industry. Onthank will meet with alumni and prospective employers in Southern Oregon and California concerning University graduate placement work. Panel Features Kunz Representing the Northwest As sociation of Chemistry Teachers, A. H. Kunz, head of the Chemistry Department, will participate in a panel discussion Nov. 4 at the Pacific Industrial Conferences in San Francisco. The topic of the panel will be "How Can Colleges and Industry Cooperate to Produce Better Chemists?” Eight to Attend IRC Conference Eight students will travel to the University of Idaho at Moscow for the Northwest regional conference of the International Relations Club, Oct. 27-29, according to C. P. Schleicher, professor of political science. Two foreign students, Winfried Eggert and Gisela Schmidt, arc among the group which includes: Jeanette Scott, Nancy L. O’Connor, Claire Cordier, Dave Oestreicli, Glenn Morgan, and Marilyn Daw ley. E. C. Robbins, instructor in economics and co-adviser of the group, will accompany students. “Uncle Sam: Shylock or Santa Claus?” is the general theme of this, the third annual conference. Glenn Morgan will lead one of the five round tables, that dealing with American assistance to un der-developed areas. The group will leave Thursday and return Sunday. Film Scheduled “It Happened Tomorrow,” starring Dick Powell, Linda Dar nell and Jack Oakie, will be shown tonight at 7 and 9 pan. In 207 Chapman Hall. The movie is the story of how “fate hands out tomorrow’s newspaper today.” One short feature is also scheduled. Correction Hendricks no. 3 and 4 will be paired with Pi Kappa Phi frater nity, in the Homecoming Noise Parade, not Pi Kappa Alpha as reported in Tuesday’s Emerald. I? AA Party Slated Saturday Night A carnival and dance will high light the School of Architecture and Allied Arts’ annual Frost Party Saturday night, October 29. The party is sponsored by the Associated Students of Architec ture and Allied Arts. Chairmen are Donald Crump and De Norval Unthank. “The purpose of this social function,’’ Crump said, "is to ac quaint freshman students of the school with the professors and with students of other classes.” Activities will begin at 8 p.m. and will continue until 12 midnight in painting studios B and C of the main architecture building. Faculty members and members of the Associated Students of Ar chitecture and Allied Arts will be admited free. Others will be charged.
