Worship Head Named Charlotte Stone, sophomore transfer from Eastern Oregon Col lege of Education, was named YW CA religion and worship chairman by the cabinet Monday night. Miss Stone replaces Lou Weston, who resigned because of conflict ing duties. Oregana Open House Planned Prospective Oregana workers are invited to attend open house ThursT day night from 7:30 to 9:30 for in terviews with the year book staff. The open house, which was ar ranged so students and faculty can see the phases of the publication, will be held in the Oregana offices in McArthur Court. Entertainment will be provided by Allan Barzman, with a mono logue, Marcia Knosher and Gerry Pearson. Phi Thetas will serve re freshments, and a general tour of the office will also be on the pro gram. Some sports coats are made of banana fiber. They must be very easy to slip on and peel off. Educators' Meeting Slated for Denver Edgar W. Smith, Portland, pres ident, and Dr. Charles Byrne, Eu gene, secretary of the State Board of Higher Education, will partici pate in the annual meeting of the Association of Governing Boards of State Universities and Allied Institutions, from Oct. 5 to 9 in Denver. Smith, a member of the execu tive committee of the association, will preside at a Thursday after noon discussion on “Securing Leg islative Appropriations.” Dr. Byrne will give “The Regent’s View point.” Married women will tell you that men help most with house cleaning when they stay away from home. Young Demos Meet Tomorrow Young- Democrats of Lane county will meet for the first time this term Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Y.M.C.A. The meeting will be held to appoint committees and to plan activities for the coming year. Tenative plans include the pre sentation of films and speakers dealing with significant issues fac ing the people of Oregon. All persons interested in the Democratic party are invited to attend. - Men’s coats without pockets real ly are handy. You can throw all the odds and ends and stuff in the first place. I Y MCA Official To Attend Meet Karl Onthank. University direc tor of graduate placement and member of the campus YMCA ad visory board, will attend a semi annual meeting of the Northwest Area YMCA Board in Olympia, Wash., Saturday and Sunday. Members of the Northwest Stu dent Committee of the YMCA will also attend the Olympia meeting, Onthank holds membership in both groups.
