Candidatees for the positions which will offer pay and retire ment benefits must be veterans or graduatees of basic ROTC. Knowledge of a language is pre ferred but not required. Students applying should be available throughout the summer for train ing in Eugene. The units are sponsored by the Officers Reserve corps. Honorary Picks Petersen Prexy Marjorie Petersen, junior in Eng lish, was elected president of Mor tar Board, senior women’s honor ary, following the initiation of new members Monday evening. She will be assisted by Sally Wal ler, junior in political science, as Vice-president. Other officers are Suzanne Michel, secretary; Velma Snellstrom, treasurer; Barbara Keywood, editor; and Mariyn Tur ner, historian. Theta Sig Names Prexy Barbara Heywood, junior in journalism, will head Theta Sigma Phi, national professional journal ism fraternity, next year. She was elected following initiation of new meembers last week. Helen Sherman, vice-president; Margaret Reid, secretary; Joanne Frydenlund, treasurer; and Caro line Griesel, keeper of the archives, were elected at the same meting.
