Oregon’s twin rockets will roar as usual. Too bad Bob Weber was injured. Could have been a clean sweep for the Ducks. Points: Oregon 8, Washing ton 1. ?20-yard dash: Same as Century. Oregon 8, Washington 1. 140-yard dash: 1—Harrison (W); 2—Countryman (O); 3—Sullivan (O). Nod goes to Donn Harrison because of his Idaho performance last Saturday. Oregon 4, Washington 5. 880-yard run: 1—Hensey (W); 2—McClure (O); 3—Brown (W). If Hensey runs, but if he stays on crutches as Washington Daily pa per claims, it’s a first place for McClure. Oregon 2, Washington 6. Mile: 1—Steed (W); 2—Abbey (W); 3—Cummins (W). Bowerman moved A1 Kraxberger into this weak spot for the Ducks, but it’s his first race. Oregon 0, Washington 9. rwo-milee: Carbon copy of the mile. Oregon 0, Washington 9. Pole vault: 1—Rasmussen (O); 2—Pickens (O); 3—Hickok (O). Golfers Clash with Beavers At Eugene Country Club Gunning for their fourth consecutive conference victory, the Oregon Varsity linksmen take on the Oregon State Beavers to day for 36 holes at the Eugene country club. The match will mark Oregon’s final home stand of the season. Having already polished off the Beavers this season, the pow erful Webfoots, unbeaten in four matches, will be out to prove their worthiness with a repeat over the strong Corvallis squad, which is paced by Sophomore Dick I IjBPWw**11 ~_ Yost. AFTER A WEEK of hotly con tested challenge rounds, the Duck first six now comprises Johnny Eckstrom, John Prince, team cap tain Dom Provost, Jim Donahue, Ned Omlid, and Bob Sederstrom, in that order. The hard-hitting Prince blasted a l>9 yesterday to take second place over Provost. He turned in a par 72. THIS MARKS Sederstrom’s first appearance in the top six men, Best ball play is slated to start at 8:30 this morning at the Eugene county club, followed by individual matches in the afternoon. lO' Netters in Win Oregon’s hard-stroking tennis team encountered little trouble in downing Idaho 5-2 yesterday as Lhey tuned up for today's match with Washington State in Pullman. The present road trip, which concludes against the Cougars, rep resents the last ND competition of the season for the Duck netters with the exception of a meet with Oregon State followed by the Nor thern Division championships. i The final event this afternoon, the mile relay, could well be the decisive one when Coach Bill Bow erman’s Webfoot cindermen take on the Washington Huskies in Seattle. Both teams will have to depend heavily on their depth material to gain the dual meet victory since each outfit completely dominates particular ..events. ..These ..crucial events where the average run-of the-mill athletes hold the balance of power are the 440-yard run, sec ond and third place in the hurdles, and the shot put. Using a graduated Williamson rating system and a mystic’s crys tal ball, we predict the invading Ducks will capture the relay and the meet by a score of 69-62. Frosh Whipped By Rooks; Play Twin Bill Today Rook hurler Don White struck out 12 men to pace the Orange and Black nine to a 4-0 victory over the frosh yesterday at Corvallis. DICK WAIBEL kept up with the pace set by White until the sixth inning in which the Rooks man aged to squeeze three runs across jthe plate. They picked up another tally in the seventh before the Ducklings could recover. White never got into serious trouble as he gave up only six hits to the yearling batters. THE FROSH will try to get back in the winning column this afternoon when they vie against Klamath Falls and Eugene high in a double header on Howe field. The first game against the Peli cans is scheduled to start at noon followed by the Eugene game at 3. Jim Cortright will pitch against the southerners and Dahlbeer will throw to the Axemen. McUure Ukays Coaching Offer Bob (Buster) McClure, whose re ceipt of an official offer to serve as line coach for the Ducks was disclosed by the Emerald earlier in the week, has already phoned in his acceptance from Nevada. McClure, who has been helping Jim Aiken during spring drills, left last weekend for Reno to confer with his wife about the proposed job. It was learned that on Monday night he contacted Aiken prior to the latteer’s journey to Cleveland and informed him that he would accept the post. The vacancy was created when Dick Miller resigned and moved into the head coaching position at North Dakota, taking Frank Za zula with him.
