Decision Due on
Building Site
The fate of the University’s pro
posed science building will be de
cided at a meeting of the State
Board of Higher Education, Lyle
Ne Ison, head of the University’s
office of information, said today.
At the same time, the board will
examine drawings of the new heat
ing plant. Appropriations for the
plant’s construction have already
been approved.
A committee which included Ir
win I. Wright, head of the physical
plant, and R. T. Ellickson, asso
ciate dean of the graduate school
of physics, was in Portland yes
terday discussing plans with
Lawrence, Tucker, and Wallman,
architects, who have prepared the
plans for the science building.
The main task of the commit
tee will be to revise earlier plans
for the building, to fit current
budget allowances. If the board
approves the revised plans, the
University expects to receive a
final budget approval on or after
July 16.
Traffic Violafors
(Continued from page one)
all traffic cases are heard informal
ly by the office of student affairs.
The student court will meet at least
once a week, after it is set up.
The court will probably set up a
sistem of car-registration, with all
student cars on campus being re
quired to have numbered wind
shield stickers. This would be hand
led in conjunction with class regis
tration at the beginning of the year.

In its formally adopted plan for
the traffic court, the executive
council included a wish that “the
student traffic court will so conduct
itself as to merit the respect and
confidence of the students of the
University of Oregon, University
authorities, and the municipal po
lice and court, and that its work
shall serve as evidence of the ma
