Hunts Banner
With a little ingenuity a person
can put any object to good use.
But the drama department, not
even with the largest stretch of
their imagination, can quite figure
out what’s being done with their
street banner.
It seems some enterprising stu
dent borrowed the street banner
used to advertise “Command De
cision” from the costume depart
ment in Friendly hall. And now,
the drama department would like
the banner returned, so they could
have it re-painted to advertise
“Marco Millions.”
So please, says LeJeune Griffith,
drama secretary, will the person
who borrowed the sign return it to
the speech office on the second
floor of Villard—pronto!
Federal Civil Service Agents
To Confer With Seniors April 12
A conference with representa
tives of federal civil service simi
lar to that held with state agencies
is scheduled for next Tuesday,
April 12, on the Oregon campus.
The meeting is being planned
jointly by the Federal Personnel
Council of Portland and the Uni
versity graduate placement ser
vice, with the cooperation of th£
teaching departments.
Students and faculty will meet
with the federal representatives in
a 2 p.m. general session and 3:00
sectional meetings. Purpose of the
conference is to acquaint students
with college-level opportunities in
the federal civil service.
Representatives of Porltand fed
eral agencies will join with Uni
versity faculty members in a
luncheon meeting at noon at the
Faculty club.
Sectional meetings will include
discussions on opportunities in
economics, public administration,
social work, accounting and audit
ing, science, biological and physi
cal; personnel administration, psy
chological and civil service exam
inations and testing.
Faculty members will preside
over the sectional meetings, after
which students may interview the
representatives.
Plymouth Luncheon
Plymouth club will held its regu
lar Thursday noon luncheon today
at the Congregational church.
University students are invited
and no reservations are required.
Kwamas Tap Pi Phi
Ann Gillenwaters
Ann Gillenwaters, sophomore in
liberal arts, became a Kwama mem
ber last night when she was tap
ped during the dinner hour at her
living organization, Pi Beta Phi.
A vacancy in the sophomore wo
men’s honorary was left this term
by Barbara Hamilton who did not
return to school. Miss Gillenwaters,
who is president of her house, was
co-chairman of the decorations
committee for the All-campus Sing,
co-chairman of publicity for the
Frosh Glee, and chairman of flying
speeches for the AWS Nickel Hop
her freshman year.
Ski Club Meeting
There will be a meeting of the
ski club tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the
band room of the ROTC building.
Nominations of officers will be
held at the meeting.
Students Plan
Organ Recital
Organ music will be played by
Virgene Lindley Roffe and Andrew
Flanders, juniors in music, in a
joint recital to be held Tuesday,
April 12, 8 p.m., in the school of
music auditorium.
Both musicians are organists in
Eugene churches. Mrs. Roffe plays
for the Baptist church services and
Flanders is organist at the Central
Presbyterian church.
WAA Cabinet
Members of the WAA cabinet
will meet tonight at 7:30 in the
WAA room in Gerlinger hall.
Weekend Committee
Junior Weekend committee will
meet at 4 p.m. today at the ASUO
president's office, Emerald hall.
