senior girls’ breakfast sponsored
by the YWCA will go on sale to
day at the Co-op. Tickets are 95
cents and will be sold until next
Wednesday.
The breakfast will be held in
the Vets’ Memorial building
downtown on Sunday, April 10,
at 9:30 a.m.

speaker. Joan O’Neill Foulon is
chairman of the breakfast.
Westminster House
Westminster house will have
its weekly potluck dinner Thurs
day evening at 6 p.m. Mr. Harry
Burks, college secretary of the
American Friends Service com
mittee will talk with students
who are interested in summer
projects in Europe and the Unit
ed States.
Admission to the dinner is
either food or 40 cents. Everyone
is invited to attend.

Journalism School
To Add Facilities
Radio facilities in the extension
building will be transferred to
the journalism school when the
radio department moves into its
new studios in Villard hall, ac
cording to Dean Clifford F. Wei
gle.
Journalism laboratories for
copyediting, newsroom policies,
reporting and radio news writing
will be held in the new space.
Laboratories have been held in
temporary quarters for the last
two terms.
The move is planned for some
time this term, possibly April,
Weigle said.
Band to Play
At Conference
Sixty members of the Univer
sity of Oregon concert band will
give two performances in Port
land today in connection with the
Northwest Music Educators con
ference.
Under the direction of John H.
Stehn, associate professor of mu
sic, the group will present an
hour concert in the Lincoln high
school auditorium this afternoon
at 4:30.
Portland’s civic auditorium
will be the scene of the second
concert, presented as a portion
of a joint meeting of the North
west Music Educators and the
Oregon Education association.
The evening program will begin
at 8 p.m.
Approximately 2000 music in
structors and students from five
northwestern States are expected
to attend the Portland conference.
The University band recently
returned from a spring vacation
tour of eastern Oregon cities and
towns.

Dr. L. S. Cressman, head of
the anthropology department,
will attend the fourth annual na
tional conference on higher edu
cation at Chicago, April 4.-7, it
was announced yesterday.
All branches of higher educa
tion will participate in the con
ference, which serves as an an
nual planning session for consid
ering trends and problems of
American universities and col
leges. Problems pertaining to
students, curriculum, and in
struction, faculty, and organiza
tion, administration and control
will be emphasized in the discus
sions.
Dr. Cressman will go to Cleve
land following the conference to
examine exhibitions, methods of
preparation of exhibits, and the
educational program at the
Cleveland health museum.
Evangelist To Speak
At Baptist Church
Rev. Fred Brown, nationally
known southern evangelist, will
speak tonight and on following
evenings through April 10 at 7
p.m. in the First Baptist church,
Broadway and High streets.
Soprano solos will be presented
during the evening meetings by
Rev. Brown’s wife, who holds a
master’s degree in music. Mrs.
Brown was recently chosen in a
state-wide elimination contest to
sing the lead in the University of
Tennessee’s presentation of “The
Messiah.”
