    Navy to Practice
For Amphib Landing
WITH THE ATLANTIC FLEET
ON CARIBBEAN MANEUVERS,
Feb. 28 (AP)—The Navy will stage
tomorrow a noisy dress rehearsal
of its big mock amphibious land
ir.g on Vieques Island.
Live ammunition will be used
during the rehearsal, but not in the
actual landing planned for Wednes
day. Defending forces on Vieques
Island will use mock ammunition
and mines when sailors and marines
go ashore.

To Interview Students March 9
Students may be interviewed by
company representatives from the
General Motors corporation tomor
row and Thursday, and from North
America Insurance companies
March 9 and 10.
General Motors is looking for
men in business administration in
the fields of accounting, auditing,
financial analysis, and industrial
production. Some engineering or
technical background is desirable
for some of these positions. They
will glso interview men for finan
cial and insurance work with both
General Motors and General Motors
Acceptance corporation, and men
who have master’s or doctor’s de
grees in physics and chemistry for
research positions.
A few men who have completed
their junior year or who are going
into graduate study in technical
fields are also needed for place-'
ment in research laboratories or
manufacturing divisions during the
summer.
North America companies are
looking for field representatives,
underwriters, and loss supervisors,
For the latter, an engineering de
gree is not required but a back
ground of engineering or construc
tion experience is desirable. Men
with legal or pre-legal background,
accounting, economics, or a gener
al education, as well as business ad
ministration graduates, are eligible
for these positions.
Students wishing to be interview
ed should call at the graduate
placement service, room 216, Em
erald hall, for appointments. All
students must have complete cre
dentials.
German Club
A German club meeting will be
held tonight at 7:30 in the sunporch
of Gerlinger hall.
Wesley Chapel
Wednesday morning chapel ser
vice will begin at 7:30 at Wesley
house. Coffee and doughnuts will be
served from 7 to 7:30.
UO to Install
Pi Eta Sigma
The University of Oregon chap
ter of Phi Eeta Eigma, national
freshman scholastic honorary, will
be installed March 1 after an ini
tiation ceremony and banquet.
Presiding over the installation
will be Dr. G. Herber Smith, presi
dent of Willamette university, and
national vice president of Phi Eeta
Sigma.
Officers of the Oregon chapter
are Glenn Allen, president; Stan
Pierson, vice president; Michael
Calahan, secretary; and Hank Pa
