Language Profs Go to Portland The Oregon chapter of the Amer ican Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese will meet at Portland in St. Helen’s hall 7:30 p. m. tomororw. The speaker will be Miss Mary Rogolino, instructor in romance languages here who will talk on “Traveling Through Mexico.” Attending from the -University are Anibel Vargas-Baron president of the chapter, and Dr. David Dougherty, head of the foreign lan guage department. A corrected fault is a profitable gain. Students to Elect Board Monday University theater’s annual meet ing to elect students to the execu tive board will be held at 7:30 Mon day evening in Guild theater in Johnson hall. Tryouts for the fourth production of the season, and a meeting of School for Scandal cast will follow the general assembly. Ten student members will be elected to the board- two from each class, and two graduate students. The group is a sounding board of student views in carrying out Uni versity theater policy. It works throughout the year in selecting the plays of the season and working out other theater problems. Any Student mieresteu m theater is eligible for election to the board, whether or not a speech or drama major. Persons interested in trying out for the fourth production hav,e been asked by Mrs. Ottie Seybolt, direc tor, to sign up in the drama studio behind Johnson hall before Monday, if possible. Details of the proposed road tour of School for Scandal, presented at the University in December, will be discusse*d ht a short cast meeting after the main meeting. Club Reporters Confer Reporters of all honoraries, clubs, and campus organizations are re quested by Emerald news editor Stan Turnbull to meet with him in the Emerald quonset Tuesday ev ening at 7 p. m. Lutheran Students Plan Sunday Supper The Lutheran Student associa tion will have their Sunday supper meeting at 5:30, January 16, at Lu ther house, 1376 Alder. Pastor Carl Samuelson of Cor vallis will be the guest speaker of the evening. George Boyd will me in charge of devotions. Estelle Nordgreen and Lee Philpot't are student chairmen. Church Starts Class A college class will be organized at the First Methodist church Sun day, January 16, at 9:45 a. m. All students who are interested are in vited to attend the class. Beauty, Appeal All From 3-hour Hike Girls who want a peaches and cream complexion may meet in front of Gerlinger tomorrow, Sun day, at 2:30 and join in the novelty hike planned by the Outing club, according to Hazel Peterson, presi dent. About three hours of hiking, who knows where, “that’s the novelty of it,” will give the girls plenty of fresh air and a head start towards that outdoorish appeal as personi fied by Ingrid Bergan. Any girl interested in the hike may attend the outing, and should wear appro priate clothes. No man is greater than his 1 thoughts. STEERING GEAR ....
