Might also mention that the
fact that he was a Washington
State man and I was from Oregon
did not keep him from doing ev
erything possible to help me find
out what made KGW tick.

The battle of the airlanes has
been raging hot and heavy the
past few weeks. CES has started
to try and build up its list of star
performers by raiding the NBC
stable of radio artists. So far
Jack Benny has been the only one
who definitely will transfer his
loyalties and his talents to CBS.
There is no way of telling how
many others will follow his ex
ample, but with CBS being so
carefree with the cash it seems
quite likely that there are others
who will want to make the
change.
At this point only the big com
edy shows usually aired in the
evenings have been mentioned. It
would sure be nice to see some
one with cash use some of it to
build up stronger daytime pro
grams. Some of the atrocities
that are foisted off on poor help
less housewives these days should
go the way of all trash. Namely:
to the city dump.

Milton Berle's rendition of
"The Sweetheart of Sigmund

priceless. Berle’s comic abilities
are worthy of more comment
than there is time for today so
more of him at a later date.
