A larger decrease than this is'expected to come to Oregon next fall. Under the necw ruling, it is obvious that the last to suf fer will be the University con trolled dormitories. The first to suffer will be the fraternities and sororities. The fraternities don’t deserve such treatment, for it is their inherent housing resiliency that has been an immeasurable aid, truly a godsend, for the many students who might otherwise have beeen deprived of housing and a chance to obtain education here at Oregon. The way frater nities have cooperated .doing ev erything but hanging men from the rafters, has constituted a no ble effort, not without sacrifice to all concerned. In conclusion, Mr. DuShane said, “We are determined that this will operate to strengthening and improvement of the fraterni ty-sorority system, which we support.” Support? Yes, if one calls being hung by the neck, support, then the fraternities and sororities are surely being sup ported! Respectfully submitted, (Name Withheld) Going Someplace? Why Delay?
