A near-sellout crowd of 16, 000 is expected to watch the game, and the stadium may fill to capacity if the weatherman comes i through with a good football day. Although favored to win this non-conference battle, the Ducks may be pressed by Joe Verducci’s youngsters. The Gaels arrived in Eugene yesterday, and looked good during their brief workout. Upset Not Impossible ‘ A hard-charging line and a fast backfield led by Spike Cordeiro and Dick Jarvis could take the Saints to a major west slope upset. Oregon Coach Jim Aiken and his league-leading team are not ex pected to- hold back today, since they will be after more than 20 points. California defeated St. Mary’s 20-0 earlier in the season. McKay Ready The Webfoot backfield will be at full strength today for the first time in three weeks. Left halfback Johnny McKay has been running well in scrimmage, and will see plenty of duty. Woodley Lewis will probably start at left half, George Bell will go at right half, Bob Sanders is set to open at fullback, and Norm Van Brocklin will run the team from his quarterback post. Van Brocklin to Pass Van Brocklin is expected to boost his passing percentage even higher today, with Dick Wilkins, Dan Garza, and Darrell Robinson on the receiving end.. The only player on the doubtful list is Benny Holcomb, defensive safety man out with a leg injury. Holcomb, one of the ten seniors playing their last home game to day, may be ready for some duty.
