Dean Lists Jobs Open In Atomics Two calls have come in recently { for men for employment in the atomic energy field, according to K. W. Onthank, director of gradu ate placement. Union Carbide and Carbon cor poration, which operates at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, has sent appli cation forms for graduate students interested in chemistry and physics, and the General Electric company, at Hanford, Washington and else where, has already asked for in formation and will probably have a representative on the campus during the year, according to Di rector Onthank. The positions open are chiefly for those with master’s degrees or more, but there are positions for those holding only first degrees in chemistry, physics and mathemat ics. Five hundred dollars will be tak en fro mtheir current funds and the remainder elsewhere. Letters, signed by Ernest Haycox, president of the organization, are now being sent out to the members for con tributions. The committee also established a definite date for the annual Dads’ day. It will be held February 5, the day of Oregon’s second basket ball game with the University of Washington. Officers Appointed Nelda Vogel was selected chair man of the YWCA house commit tee and Joan Sides was chosen as sistant at the last cabinet meeting Laura Olson, president, announced. Mrs. Roy McCall is chairman of the house committee from the ad visery board. Miss Olson stated that one of the first projects of the committee will be certain minor repairs to the building.
