Is Rated Tops
Following the bonfire and noise
parade, an all-student talent pro
-gram will be presented in Mac
court. Chairman of the rally com
mittee, A1 Lippman, says that it
will be something new in the way
of student talent shows.
Originated by Norm Morrison
and Denny Marvin, the program
will be in the form of a minstrel
show, with several specialty acts.
Zarones and his men of EZ
Rythem, Negro jazz band, will pro
vide the musical background.
Acts Featured
Featured acts are Carol Johnson,
"blues singer; Jackie Wrenn, tap
dancer; two comics from old Mis
sissippi, Gay Baldwin and Bob
Chambers; a duet by the well
known mountain singers, Newt
Thornton and Stan Smith; and
Margo Spangler and Barbara Hen
ton, Tri Delt duet.
Also feature dare an exotic Kap
pa dance team, consisting of Emily
West, Georgie Balaam, Eva Moore
and Julie Chevier; and Arnold
Beaver, baritone. Presentation of
the noise parade and Homecoming
sign awards will be held just be
fore the talent show.
To Hold Meeting
| An organizational meeting of
the worship workshop will be held
Wednesday at 7:45 at the YWCA,
announced Lou Weston, chairman.
Miss Weston will outline the gen
eral principles of the workshop and
will hold a discussion of any ques
tions.
Representatives in the living or
ganizations, both men’s and wom
en’s, in charge of devotionals or
anyone interested are invited to
attend.

Monthly Luncheon
Planned Thursday
The monthly luncheon of the
YWCA advisory board and cabinet
is scheduled for Thursday noon at
the Y bungalow. Mrs. Curtis Av
ery, president of the advisory
Board, will preside over the meet
ing.
Nancy Moran will give an ac
count of her work with the gov
ernment last summer in the stu
dents in government project in
Washington, D. C.

At Campus Talent Show
“Laughs, music, fun, color.”
These are attractions Chuck Cor
gan, Homecoming promotion chair
man, promises Oregon, students if
they attend, what he calls the big
gest campus talent show of the
year. The entertainment, first of
this year’s Homecoming festivities,
is scheduled for 6:30 tomorrow
night in front of the College Side
Inn.
Chairmen Bob Chambers and
Chloe Ann Mayer have been audi
tioning talent for four weeks in an
effort to present something unique
and outstanding in campus enter
tainment, according to Corgan.

With a “gay nineties” theme and
torch lighting, the show will fea
ture disappearing acts, imitations,
“can-cans,” and singing. Included
among the performers will he the
Pi Kap trio, Janet Standring and
Bob Chambers, singers Phil Green
and Carol Johnson, imitators Russ
Haehl and Ron Stevenson, and
magician Jim Steinkraus.
Jackie Wrenn and Barbara
Cohn, described as “Toscanini of
the dance and floor” and “The So
phie Tucker of Oregon,” respective
ly, will also be inti-oduced by Gay
Baldwin, master of ceremonies.
