    Ski Club to Fete
Olympic Skier
Gretchen Fraser
Gretchen Fraser, women’s Olym
pic ski champion, will be honored
at the University of Oregon Ski
club banquet, 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Ski club will hold a meeting
tonight at 7:30 at 105 Oregon to
discuss the forthcoming affair. All
students are invited to the banquet
and may buy tickets at tonight’s
meeting.
The Saturday event will be held
at the Smorgasbord. Tickets are $2
each. Campus clothes are in order.
Movies of the 1948 Olympic
games will have their first West
Coast showing at the Roosevelt
junior high school. Showings will
be at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Mrs. Fraser
will address the audience at the in
termission. Tickets for the movies
are 75 cents for University students
and $1 for the general public.
Tickets may be secured from the
Ski club treasurer, Lynn Bucklin.
Bucklin may be located at 4075-J
after 4 p.m.

Graduation information for sen
iors will be available at room 8,
Friendly hall, beginning June 1,
according to Les Anderson, alumni
secretary.
This will include commencement
tickets and instructions for the
ceremonies. Anderson said each
graduate will probably be limited to
three tickets, because of the unusu
ally large class.
The alumni office is open from 8
a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. daily.

Old Oregon
Sent This Week
News of “Human Growth,” the
music school, and Junior Weekend
are part of the May issue of Old
Oregon, alumni magazine. Jim
Wallace, managing editor, said the
magazine will be mailed this week.
It includes “UO Film Boon to
Sex Education” by Bill Wasmann,
associate editor; “Talent Plus
Training—Music” by Maryann
Thielen; and a feature by Wallace
on Ed Crowley, manager of the
Town House in Los Angeles.
Susan McCarrel, associate edi
tor, wrote the Junior Weekend
summary.
Wallace said that this month’s
Old Oregon also includes an article
on atomic research and study fel
lowships at the University. This
was written by Barbara Heywood.
Old Oregon’s May cover is a
sketch of the Pioneer Father, who
is described in the magazine.
Alumni news and advances of
class reunions complete the publi
cation.

Entrance Applications
Applications for admittance to
the school of law next fall term
must be filed with the school’s of
fice not later than 5 p.m., May 24,
1948.
According to information re
ceived from the school, students
who fail to file their applications
by that time cannot be assured of
accommodation in the school next
fall. Application forms may be se
cured in room 219 Fenton hall.
Cuthbert Writes Story
F. A. Cuthbert, professor of land
scape architecture, this month has pub
lished an article in the Journal of Am
erican Water Works in which he dis
cusses the subject of water departments
in city planning.
