Festival Draws Music Students Harriet'te Stewart, Georgene Shanklin, and Betty Bagley, all freshmen in music, traveled to Portland last Friday to participate in the 1948 festival of the Oregon Music Teachers’ association. Miss Shanklin played a Gigue by Bach, Waltz in E Minor by Chopin, and Toccata by Khatchaturian. The Waltz Song from “Romeo and Juliet” was sung by Miss Stewart, and Miss Shanklin and Miss Bagley played a two-piano arrangement of Beethoven’s Concerto in C minor. Misses Stewart and Shanklin will perform together at the Sunlight Serenade during Junior Weekend. Bob Frazier was Journal Junior city-wide yo-yo champion in 1930. L M Students!
