Campus Easter Seal Campaign Starts Monday The campus Easter seal drive will be held from March 8 to 10, according to Laura Olson, president of Phi Theta Upsilon. The junior woman’s honorary, along with Kwama, Skull and Dagger, and Druids, is sponsoring the drive. Seals will be sold at houses and a booth will be set up Wednesday in the Co-op. The seals are ter/ cents a pack, ten seals in a pack. The drive is being held as a part of a national drive, now going on, for the support of the national so ciety for crippled children and adults, which received its major support from the drive. Local chapter of the society spon sors the children’s hospital school, 1166 Alder Street. There are 21 children at the school now, al though the capacity is 30. Present objective of the society is, through the sale of Easter seals, a dormi tory, to enable children from all over the state to attend the school. There is no dormitory connected now with the school. The local school was opened Oc tober 17, 1947. Spastic and athe toid cases, injuries which control the use of the muscles, are treated, along with permanent muscular disorders. Council Names Student Heads The Westminster council at its last meeting named four students to head the newly-formed commis sions under which the foundation program will henceforth be gov erned. Bob Stephensen was appointed the commissioner for stewardship. Steve Stone will head outreach; Joyce Niedermeyer was appointed head of faith and life, and Lary Feurstein was made fellowship commissioner. The council decided to hold the spring term retreat at Silver Creek Falls on the fifteenth of May. Sunday night's forum will fea ture Dr. James Millar of the Good Citizenship foundation. His sub ject will be, “Religion in Life.” Millar is a native of Ireland, and a graduate of Oxford university. He is presently on a lecture tour for the Oregon Council of Churches. The remodeling of the Westmin ster basement into a recreation room is progressing satisfactor ily. The job will be completed by the opening of spring term. Deadline Monday For Glee Petitions Deadline for the petitions for chairmanships of the Frosh Glee committees is set at 4 p.m., March 8. Decorations, publicity and pro motion, tickets, patrons and pa tronesses, entertainment, and clean-up are among the positions open. The petitions, which may be ob tained from the deans of men and women, must be accompanied by a certificate of eligibility stating that the applicant has a GPA of more than a 2.00.
